Antonio Giuseppe Lauro is an olive oil consultant, journalist and panel leader, an assessor of extra virgin olive oil quality since 1995 and an International Olive Council (IOC) panel leader since 2003.
Since 2003 Dr. Lauro has been teaching courses for professional tasters of olive oil in accordance with IOC/EU laws. Lauro has written numerous publications on the extra virgin olive oil sector.
Lauro is panel leader of “Prim’Olio,” certified by the Agricultural Ministry of Italy and the panel leader of the international jury for TerraOlivo Mediterranean International Olive Oil Competition since 2010. He is also the panel leader of of the international jury for OLIVINUS International Olive Oil Competition .
An agronomist and olive sector expert for the Agricultural Department of Calabria, he has participated in many national and international projects related to olive oil production and quality control.
Dr. Lauro is member of the jury of the regional selection Concorso Nazionale Ercole Olivario, the international organic olive oil competition Premio Oleum Olivarum, a Member of the National Jury Concorso Nazionale Ercole Olivario (2005/2013); member of the international jury of Extrascape (2012), and a frequent panel Leader and member of regional olive oil competitions since 1995.

Brígida Jiménez Herrera is a Doctor of Pharmacy, Master in Economics and Business Administration (MBA) and Diploma in Business Management by the CSIC, is Director of the Center IFAPA Cabra since 1990, specializing in the Olivar center, oil olive oil and table olives.
She has extensive experience in R + D + I in the sensory characteristics of virgin olive oil, as an expert panel participating in major international competitions of quality olive oil.
She has participated in numerous conferences at the national and international level and has received several awards as Andres Nunez de Prado Organic Livestock Award for Research in Agriculture and for the work “Phenolic compounds with beneficial health effect in Virgin Olive Oils Extra Picual variety. Comparative study of organic farming versus conventional farming:” Olivar de Jaén Prize, in recognition of the work in spreading the culture of the grove and its dedication to the promotion and development of the olive and olive oil, given by the Association for Culture and Olivar; Award The experience in the development and promotion of Table Olive awarded by the Foundation for the Development and Promotion of the Table Olive IFAPA center Cabra (Córdoba); Weevil Award 2005 awarded by the DOP Priego de Córdoba for their continued support for the operation and development of the appellation.
Dr. Lavee is Professor Emeritus of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Faculty of Agriculture and The Agricultural Research Organization (ARO) at the Volcani center for agricultural research. In the past Deputy Director for research ARO, Head Institute of Horticulture and for 25 years Head Department of Olive and Viticulture.
Israel delegate to the International Olive Council (IOC) and elected its president for the years 2000 and 2008. His research is in the field of olive physiology, breeding and agronomic development. He published about 150 scientific papers 60 professional articles and about 65 review papers and book chapters. He is involved in various National and international olive research projects and was a visiting professor at many universities and research institutes, world wide. He was and still is deeply involved in teaching, guiding M.Sc and Ph.D students as well as in research and development of the olive industries in Israel and various other countries. Some of his new varieties for oil extraction are world wide used in the new intensive olive orchards.
Dr. Fathi Abd El-Hadi is an agribusiness and agricultural extension specialist, who brings both a public and private sector perspective.
Have worked on his family farm raising field crops and fruit trees, then after the high school he served as a manager for field crops cotton and corn crops in Moshav Tel Adashim. Dr. Abd El-Hadi is intimately familiar with both the physical and political challenges of managing a successful agribusiness in the private sector. During studying for the Masters and Ph.D. in Entomology and Biochemistry from The Hebrew University, he began working within the Extension Service Department within the Ministry of Agriculture. During this period Dr. Abd El-Hadi serves as teaching assistant for general chemistry for 1st year studies and organic chemistry for the 2nd year studies for the first degree in the Agriculture Faculty. Dr. Abd El-Hadi has experience in a number of agricultural sub-sectors; initially, he provided extension services to farmers operating in vegetables production, then fruit tree production, and currently, serves as the Chief Specialist for olive and almond growing, olive oil quality, pomegranate and fig growing. Dr. Abd El-Hadi has also succeeded in establishing a 120 memberstrong local cooperative for olive and almond production within an area of 250 Has.
With Dr. Abd El-Hadi’s assistance, the cooperative undertook a project to meet the recycled irrigation water quota of 1,300,000 quibeq/meter as well as lay the main irrigation pipes and irrigation systems for about 260 plots at a total cost of roughly $1.5 million USD. Since the irrigation system has been in place, more than 100 families now have sustainable livelihoods through agricultural production. The cooperative is producing 150+ tons of almond kernel with an economic value of more than $1 million USD and producing 180 tons of olive oil with an economic value of $650,000 USD. Dr. Abd El-Hadi also created the Israeli Olive Oil Tasting Panel and in less than 7 years of collaboration with the Israeli Olive Oil Board, he was successful in receiving recognition of Israeli olive oil by the International Olive Oil Council. He serves as a tasting panel supervisor for the Israeli tasting panel, after getting education in Italy and Spain. Dr Abd El-Hadi is serving in Tel Hai 2 College as an academic manager of an academic course for olive and olive oil production ( 220 hours).
Recently at June 2006, Dr Abd El Hadi left his position in the ministry of Agriculture to the private sector to Netafim and joins the company in the agribusiness department in the corporate as an expert in olives almonds and pomegranates and he share his big experience with all the countries that grow these crops with Netafim projects. He get involved in the olive big projects in Australia, Argentina, Chile, Europe, Israel and North Africa. His experience in all production aspects: growing systems (intensive and super intensive), variety selection, plant protection, olive oil production, olive oil quality and the olive Nutrigation.
Since the beginning of 2010 Dr Abd El Hadi is working as a free lance consultant in agriculture project in the different countries of the world.

Mrs. Eleftheria Germanaki has a degree on Agronomist from the Technological Education Institute of Crete.
Currently she is the panel supervisor for the Laboratory of Organoleptic Assessment of Virof, the virgin olive oil of A.C.R of Rethymno and generally on Crete. She is also responsible for quality assurance for all the Quality Systems National System of Accreditation and an olive oil consultant.
Since 1986 she has been responsible of quality control of virgin oil for the laboratory of A.C.R and in a variety of other agricultural products such as milk and raisins. Furthermore she has attended numerous educational seminars regarding the production of olive oil.
One of the top moments of her career was being selected as chief of European schemes regarding olive oil farming, organic agriculture and PDO since 2000.
In addition she has supervised programs with the aim to educate producers on how to produce qualitative olive oil, and supporting them from “the field to the store” using environmentally friendly methods.
She also took part in Symposium ”Olive Oil Mediterranean Diet” presented in collaboration with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki: the application on multivariate statistical analysis on the control of the determination of the geographical origin of Greek virgin oil.
Last but not least she has served as a member of the judge panel since the foundation of the New York International Olive Oil Competition and in contests throughout Greece.
Mrs. Germanaki considers olive oil to be a divine product which could “heal” the planet not only in a financial sense but in general. The fact that she comes from a farming family with tradition in oil production has influenced her throughout her life, determining her studies and her passion for her work.

Alexis Kerner, born in Philadelphia, is an expert olive oil taster who has resided in Seville, Spain for the past 14 years. She received her undergrad in Environmental Science from Connecticut College and her title as Expert Olive Oil Taster from the International Olive Council and the University of Jaen in Spain. She also has trained under top Spanish olive oil tasters, Brígida Jiménez and María Paz Aguilera. Every spring, Alexis serves on the jury for the annual Ovibeja International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition of Portugal. In 2014, she founded The Olive Oil Workshop, a company that strives to educate buyers at all levels as well as producers of virgin olive oils in order to empower consumers, promote good olive oil, and support producers in a difficult market.
